The work of St James in the City relies on the generosity and financial support of our members and friends. We are determined to establish a church that will reach out to the city of Liverpool and beyond, and you can be a part of it.
What we spend our money on
We give away 14% of our annual income, split 50-50 between local and international causes. On top of this, we set aside a lump sum each year to help our church planting initiatives.
The rest of our income pays for staff costs and other associated costs of running a church.
The church's budget is set and agreed for each year by the PCC (our church trustees) and our annual accounts are presented at our Annual General Meeting (around Easter each year).
If you are able, we would like you to give regularly to St James in the City. This helps us to plan for the future and dream even bigger! The Bible teaches that having thought through your own circumstances your giving should be both regular and generous. Each person should give what they have decided in their heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).
Our Preferred Way
You can set up a monthly gift to go directly out of your bank by standing order. To do this please email email@example.com and we can send you all the information you will need.
If you would like to give a one off donation, we have a number of ways you can do this.
BACs payment- please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for the details
Sunday – We do not have a collection plate during the service because we do not want to ask visitors to give. However, each week there is a collection box at the back of church where you can put cash or a cheque (made payable to St James in the City). We can also take card payments!
Send cheque- via the post (made payable to St James in the City) to the church office FAO Kirsty Fazakerley.

With every gift you give, whether it is a one off gift or a regular monthly gift, if you are a taxpayer, we have the opportunity to claim gift aid tax relief on your donation. This means that for every pound you give, we can get an extra 25 pence.
Please help us to do this by filling in a gift aid declaration form and return to the Church office or place it in the offering box. Imagine what a difference that could make; and it does not cost you a thing!
