The work of St James in the City relies on the generosity and financial support of our members and friends. We are determined to establish a church that will reach out to the city of Liverpool and beyond, and you can be part of it.

Regular Giving

If you are able, we encourage you to give regularly to St James in the City. This helps us to plan for the future and dream even bigger! The Bible teaches that having thought through your own circumstances your giving should be both regular and generous. Each person should give what they have decided in their heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).

  • Our preferred way is to set up a monthly gift to go directly out of your bank by standing order. Click the donate now button above to do this via Churchsuite. You can also set this up through your bank using the details below

If you would like to give a one off donation, you can use the above methods or:
  • Each week there is a collection box at the back of church where you can put cash or a cheque (made payable to St James in the City). We can also take card payments!
  • Send a cheque via the post (made payable to St James in the City) to the church office:

Gift Aid

With every gift you give, whether it is a one off gift or a regular monthly gift, if you are a taxpayer we have the opportunity to claim gift aid tax relief on your donation. This means that for every pound you give, we can get an extra 25 pence.

Please help us to do this by filling in a gift aid declaration form and return to the Church office or place it in the offering box. Imagine what a difference that could make; and it does not cost you a thing!

Every year, we set our our Vision and financial giving target. Take a look at our Vision for 2024 here. You can also view how we spend our money in our Annual Report
