Worship Pastor Job
St James in the City are looking to recruit a full-time worship pastor starting summer 2018. The role encompasses development of worship in several areas of our church life, as well as leading a local worship network and resourcing worship at other churches across Liverpool.

St James in the City is a growing Anglican Church plant in Liverpool city centre. It was commissioned to be particularly intentional with students, families and young professionals as well as resourcing other churches across the city. The church is a pioneering flagship within the Diocese of Liverpool, part of the HTB Church Network and has a significant focus on developing young leaders.
The ministry opportunity within the role is significant in size and scope. We hope to recruit someone to develop the work of our current Worship Pastor, and hopefully with a commitment to stay for a minimum of three years.
Development of other worship leaders in their technical and spiritual gifting, including oversight of volunteer teams and interns.
The Toxteth Worship Network trains and equips worship leaders from a variety of churches in South Liverpool, including youth band, Worship Central Course, song writing retreats and weekend worship training conferences. The role would involve collaboration with Worship Central in the North West.
St James in the City has a new church plant planned for 2020, and the role will require development of the worship team for this plant as well as ongoing support.
We have produced two family worship albums and other songs over the past two years and prayerfully hope that there would be regular new music production under the new Worship Pastor.
The role fits into a wider staff team of ordained leaders, staff workers and interns and there would be significant opportunity to develop wider vision and ministry within the Church. The role would be an excellent fit for someone potentially considering Ordained Church leadership in the future.
The starting salary is in the range £17-25k p.a. with up to 8% pension contribution.
